Faculty Center is pleased to announce two course redesign opportunities this summer. Participants will be provided a small stipend as part of the Title III grant initiative.
Course Redesign Studio, June 13-15, 2016
Facilitated by Dr. Jace Hargis & Dr. Melissa Soto
Spend time integrating research-driven teaching and learning strategies into a course of your choice. At the conclusion of the studio, each faculty member will have a formal written course plan, redesigned class meetings, and updated, appropriate, relevant and meaningful course assignments with an associated assessment rubric. Faculty members will include a map of the relationship between learning and program outcomes as well as how each will be assessed, course materials, and course activities. Priority will be given to those who have not yet participated in a Course Redesign Studio.
Please apply by May 30, 2016.
Writing Course Redesign Studio Pilot, July 5-8, 2016
Facilitated by Koreen Nakahodo and Makana Mattos
Learn the best practices for integrating writing assignments into your courses. At the conclusion of the studio, each faculty member will have a revised syllabus indicating a substantial amount of writing as part of the course grade; a revised writing assignment which includes a meaning-constructing writing task, interactive writing processes, and clear expectations; and the confidence and support system to sustain a culture of writing across the campus. Priority will be given to those redesigning a 300- or 400-level course.
Please apply by June 14, 2016.
