
Congratulations to Chaminade University’s Performing Arts Department in receiving 10 Po‘okela Awards for their spring musical production “First Date.” The announcement was made at Hawaii State Theatre Council’s annual celebration of local excellence on August 8, 2016, at the Ko‘olau Golf Club in Kaneohe. Chaminade participated with other Hawaii theatre groups including Diamond Head Theatre, Manoa Valley Theatre, the University of Hawaii-Manoa theater program, All the World’s a Stage, the Hawaii Shakespeare Festival, Hawaiian Mission Houses, Kumu Kahua Theatre, Leeward Community College, Paliku Theatre, and The Actors’ Group.

The Po‘okela Awards Ceremony 2016 will be shown on Ōlelo, Channel 53 on Sept. 21 at 6 pm, Sep. 25 at 1:30 pm, Sept. 26 at 1:30 pm, and Oct. 2 at 10 pm.
